The robbers thought they were snorting cocaine, turns out it was actually the remains of a man and two Great Danes

A gang of dim-witted robbers have snorted the cremated remains of a man and two dogs after mistakenly thinking the ashes were cocaine.

The Marion County sheriff’s department said divers will search for the remainder of the ashes later today.

Police confirmed the robbery took place in December at a home in central Florida.

‘During the investigation, detectives learned that the ashes were taken because the suspects mistook the ashes for either cocaine or heroin,’ a statement declared.

‘It was soon discovered that the suspects snorted some of the ashes believing they were snorting cocaine.’

The gang are said to have ransacked the home in Silver Springs, making off with a collection of valuables and the cremated ashes of the homeowner’s father and her two Great Danes.

Investigators worked out what had happened after five teens were arrested in connection with another attempted burglary nearby last week.
